Undergraduate Admissions Criteria

Freshman Student Admission

REGULAR ADMISSION 

Students qualify for Regular Admission to LMU if they meet the following criteria:

  • High school graduate with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • ACT/SAT Test Scores are optional.
    • If test scores are sent to the Office of Admissions, they will be reviewed on an individual case.

OR 

  • General Education Development (GED) examination with an average score of 45 or higher and no component score below 35.

Transfer Admission

 

TRANSFER REGULAR ADMISSION 

Students qualify for Regular Admission to LMU if they meet the following criteria:

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.4 or higher on all previous college level work.
  • Students who have completed fifteen (15) or more semester credit hours of potentially transferable seated, college-level course work at an accredited/approved college or university will be considered for regular transfer admission.

Conditional Admission Status- Cornerstone Program

 

  • The Cornerstone Program is a retention initiative for students who, because of GPA, ACT/SAT scores, high school academic performance, or transfer academic performance, need to receive additional academic support services.
  • Students who achieve less than a 2.40 GPA and associated ACT/SAT test scores. 
  • Two years of additional support and advising from the Office of Academic Support.
