Plan Your Funding Roadmap: Building Your Grant Seeking Toolkit

King University, May 23-24, 2024

During this two-day (May 23-24, 2024) in-person workshop to be held at King University in Bristol, TN, ACA members are invited to join Natalie Sweet to build a grant-seeking tool kit while simultaneously developing a funding idea.

Participants will learn how to creatively convey need, smartly develop a budget and narrative, and consistently seek peer review during the grant development process. Attend with either the germ of an idea or a draft in progress – projects in all phases of development will benefit from the workshop.

Grant funds are available to support travel expenses for STEM faculty who are defined, by NSF, as those in mathematics, the physical sciences, engineering, psychology, and the social sciences (Congressional Research Service, 2018).

Register here. The deadline to register is April 26, 2024.

New Sessions Coming in the 2024-2025 Academic Year!

Congratulations on making it to the end of the 2023-2024 Academic Year! The Office of Research, Grants, and Sponsored Programs will release its 2024-2025 professional development schedule in July 2024.

About the Research Advancement Mentorship Program

The Research Advancement Mentorship Program is designed to recognize experienced faculty members with backgrounds in grant-seeking, publishing, and research experience. It seeks to reward that experience with additional funding ($1,000) to support their mentorship efforts, and to provide professional development opportunities to build out a mentorship philosophy, develop strategies to mentor fellow faculty members, and access additional training tools. Recognized members will complete three summer training meetings (June, July, and August) and present to fellow faculty members on a topic of research advisement at least once during the 2024-2025 academic year.

Audience

In Phase I (Summer 2024), this program is designed for experienced faculty mentors who are interested in becoming recognized mentors on the Lincoln Memorial University campus. Rather than award based on years as a professor, the ORGSP seeks to include faculty members with extensive backgrounds in grant-seeking and publishing experience.

In Phase II (2024-2025 Academic Year), the ORGSP will invite faculty members who would like to receive mentorship from identified Mentors to connect through attendance at Mentor presentations, informal luncheons, and facilitated meetings.
