The LMU-Tampa Physician Assistant Program has created its own Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (DEI) to set goals and benchmarks to directly and intentionally promote diversity and inclusion among the students, faculty, and staff.
Goal 1: Recruit racially and culturally diverse students from disadvantaged and medically underserved populations.
Goal 2: Support racially and culturally diverse students from disadvantaged and medically underserved populations.
Goal 3: Incorporate diversity and inclusion into the curriculum.
Courses that cover diversity and inclusion topics include the following:
PAS529 Social and Cultural Aspects of Healthcare (didactic year)
PAS534 Interprofessional and Population Healthcare (didactic year)
Goal 4: Recruit a diverse workforce representing a variety of race, culture, sex/gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, socioeconomic aspect, and nationality.
Goal 5: Retain a diverse workforce representing a variety of race, culture, sex/gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, socioeconomic aspect, and nationality.
