LMU-DCOM Establishes Partnership with Lee University to Support Aspiring Osteopathic Physicians

DCOM students

Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) is proud to announce a new partnership with Lee University that offers a conditional guaranteed interview pathway for students pursuing a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. This initiative provides an opportunity for qualified students to streamline their journey to medical school while benefiting from mentorship and professional development.

Lee University’s emphasis on strong pre-health programs makes it an ideal partner for LMU-DCOM’s mission to train competent and compassionate physicians. The pathway program ensures that students who meet academic requirements—including a competitive GPA, MCAT score and completion of prerequisite coursework—will receive a guaranteed interview with LMU-DCOM’s admissions committee.

In addition to academic preparation, students will have the opportunity to engage in activities that provide exposure to the osteopathic medical field, such as hands-on learning, physician shadowing and professional networking. While this program secures an interview opportunity, students must still demonstrate their readiness for medical school through strong interview performance and overall academic achievement.

"This partnership creates an invaluable opportunity for Lee University students who are passionate about medicine and serving their communities," said Dr. Christopher Loyke, Dean and Chief Academic Officer of LMU-DCOM. "By fostering connections between undergraduate education and medical training, we are helping to shape the future of health care."

The DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine is located on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, and at LMU-Knoxville in Knoxville, Tennessee. LMU-DCOM is an integral part of LMU’s values-based learning community and is dedicated to preparing the next generation of osteopathic physicians to provide health care in the often-underserved region of Appalachia and beyond.
