LMU Dental Hygiene Celebrates White Coat

Dental Hygiene students and Faculty

The Lincoln Memorial University-College of Dental Medicine (LMU-CDM) hosted a White Coat ceremony for the Dental Hygiene Class of 2026 on January 31 at Fulton High School Auditorium. The ceremony recognized 28 dental hygiene students.

The ceremony featured a keynote address delivered by Dental Hygiene Program Director Cindy Metzger, MSAH, RDH, and a welcome from Dean Qi Wang, DDS, chief academic officer of LMU-CDM. The pledge and the creed were delivered by Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene La’Donna Taylor, MSAH, RDH. The students were presented with their white coats by both Taylor and Metzger.

“You have mastered complex areas, honed your practical skills and learned the value of teamwork and empathy,” said Wang. “These experiences have prepared your for not only the challenges but the triumphs that lie ahead.”

The white coat ceremony marks a milestone in a student’s journey toward becoming a dental professional. This ceremony symbolizes the transition from classroom learning to clinical practice, where students receive their white coats as a representation of their commitment to patient care, professionalism, and ethical responsibility.
