The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) School of Business has promoted Joy Williams to instructor of business. A native of New Tazewell, Tennessee, Williams transitions to this role after excelling as a recruiter, student success coordinator, and internship coordinator.
Williams earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in psychology and education from Tusculum University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in marketing from LMU. She will begin her dissertation in January 2025 as part of her Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in marketing program at LMU.
Earlier this semester, Williams presented research at the Southeast Chapter of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (SEINFORMS). She also presented at the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Regional Conference in November.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Williams is a member of the American Marketing Association, Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society, Alpha Chi Honor Society, and Psi Chi International Honor Society.
“Mrs. Williams is an outstanding team member who consistently demonstrates dedication, expertise, and a collaborative spirit,” said Dr. Kelsey Metz, Dean of the School of Business. “I am confident she will excel in her faculty role, just as she did in her previous position.”
Williams’ professional career spans education and strategic marketing roles in both business-to-consumer and business-to-business industries. Her favorite areas of study include brand strategy, consumer behavior, and the impact of artificial intelligence on the marketing field.
