JFWA Inducts New Beta Club Members

Beta Club  J. Frank White Academy (JFWA) held its annual Beta Club Induction Ceremony for middle school students on Nov. 4, at Duke Hall, welcoming a new group of academically dedicated students into the prestigious organization. The ceremony recognized the achievements of these students and celebrated their commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and service.

Beta Club, a nationally recognized academic and service organization, promotes the values of scholarship, character, and service among students. Membership in the Beta Club is a significant honor, with students required to meet high academic standards and demonstrate a dedication to community service. Members at JFWA in the Beta Club are expected to attend regular meetings, maintain academic honor status, and earn service hours within their community throughout the school year.

The event included the reading of the eight principles of beta: honesty, justice, service, cooperation, responsibility, charity, industriousness and humility by representatives from the senior beta division, as new members are expected to uphold these principles throughout their academic careers. The inductees were sworn by Emily Proctor with the national beta pledge after being pinned. The national pledge reads "As a proud member of National Beta, I pledge to be honest and truthful, maintain academic excellence, and conduct myself in an ethical manner. I am dedicated to serving others and contributing to the collective success of my peers."

During the ceremony, each inductee was presented with a certificate symbolizing their commitment to the Beta Club’s principles of "Let Us Lead by Serving Others."

“We are incredibly proud of these students for their hard work and dedication to their studies and their communities,” said JFWA instructor Emily Proctor who sponsors the organization.  “The Beta Club is an excellent opportunity for our students to grow as leaders while giving back to their community.”
