With a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Health Science (BS-VHS) degree from Lincoln Memorial University, you'll be prepared for employment in areas like animal health management, pharmaceutical sales, education, government agencies, and more. Or if you're hoping to continue your education on a graduate or doctoral level, our program will ready you for veterinary school and the study of fields like animal science, public health or other biological sciences. The Veterinary Health Science degree contains all the necessary prerequisite coursework for you to apply to a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program.

Please note ACT and SAT testing is optional for the undergraduate admissions but is recommended.
How to Apply
To be admitted into the BS-VHS program, you must apply through the LMU application portal. Your application must be completed for entry into the program. We recommend that you submit your application the summer before your last year of high school.
Program Outcomes
After you have completed your veterinary health science degree, you have a few options to choose from if you aren't ready to start your career yet. Most of our past graduates gain admission into a college of veterinary medicine or go on to continue their education through a graduate-level program.
Early Acceptance Program
If you meet the academic qualifications, the Veterinary Health Science degree offers a streamlined pathway to LMU's College of Veterinary Medicine through our Early Acceptance Program. Browse the requirements below:
- Submit an LMU online undergraduate application. Recommended program: Veterinary Health Science (BS).
- Submit your GPA and your test scores from the ACT and SAT. To meet LMU's Early Acceptance program admissions requirements, you must score at least a 24 in Math and Reading on the ACT, or achieve analogous SAT scores. Your high school GPA must be at least 3.5.
- Submit your Early Acceptance program application, including reference letters and essay.
Undergraduate Benchmarks/Requirements
- Maintain a GPA of at least 3.35 or higher, with a minimum 3.35 in science courses and courses directly related to your major.
- Achieve 66th percentile on CASPer (or higher)
- Complete at least 400 hours in veterinary experience or animal research
- Submit essays in accordance with the CVM requirements
- Complete the Veterinary Medical College Application System (VMCAS) application for the admissions cycle that applies to your desired start date in the veterinary program
