At Lincoln Memorial University, studying veterinary animal science will not only prepare you for graduate programs but can open the door to a promising career path as well. As you pursue your Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Animal Science degree, we will work with you to develop your skills and knowledge and help you to find successful employment in fields like livestock management, animal nutrition or animal education, or ready you to apply to graduate school in fields like reproductive physiology, agriculture, or animal law.
Our program thrives through our small class sizes and predominantly doctoral (DVM) teaching faculty. As you pursue your degree, you'll learn in our state-of-the-art teaching facility at our Ewing, VA location, where you'll get hands-on with the latest veterinary medical technology. Beyond our immediate learning environment and resources, we even offer opportunities for internships and research through the Richard A. Gillespie College of Veterinary Medicine.

Admission Requirements
LMU's undergraduate Veterinary Animal Science program follows university-wide admissions policies. You can learn more about those requirements on our admission criteria page. Please note ACT and SAT testing is optional for the program, but is recommended.
How to Apply
For admission into LMU's Veterinary Animal Science program, you must apply through the LMU application portal. Your application must be completed for entry into the program. We recommend completing your application(s) during the summer prior to the last year of your high school education.
Career Outcomes
After completing your bachelor's degree in veterinary animal science, you will be equipped to work in and manage:

- herds
- animal nutrition companies
Graduates from our program even have the opportunity to pursue a career as an Animal and Plant Health Inspection employee working for the USDA. While technicians and technologists averaged an annual salary of roughly $36,850 in 2021, veterinarians averaged $120,996.
