As a history major at LMU, you will have access to a variety of educational opportunities and resources. Our program offers small class sizes (14 students per class on average) to ensure you have the freedom and opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with your peers and instructors. Scholarships are available to you during your sophomore, junior and senior years as a history major. Plus, you will have the opportunity to get hands-on learning and experience in on-campus internships at the Abraham Lincoln Library Museum and other historic sites and agencies throughout the region.

Note: If you have completed at least 15 semester credit hours of potentially transferable, seated, college-level coursework at an accredited/approved college or university, you will be considered for regular transfer admission at LMU.
For admission into the history program at LMU, you must apply through the LMU portal. Your application must be completed to be considered for admission into the program. We recommend completing your application before the last year of your high school education.

With each passing year, the histories of our university and individual communities only grow deeper and richer. Once you've graduated from our history program, you will be well-equipped to begin a career or pursue further study in a graduate or professional program that calls for foundational analytical and communication skills.

Studying history also provides a great foundation for law school and a career as a lawyer. Even better, as an LMU history undergraduate, you can apply to, be accepted into and begin pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree at LMU Duncan School of Law (DSOL) before finishing your bachelor's degree, through the Early Entry Program to LMU DSOL.
