Earn your Master of Science in Forensic Dentistry degree from Lincoln Memorial University and use your expertise and training to help medico-legal agencies resolve complex dental/medical questions and issues. At LMU's College of Dental Medicine, located in Knoxville at the LMU Tower, we keep our program small (with just three students admitted per calendar year) to ensure a specialized hands-on learning environment for you during your time here.
We've designed our curriculum to provide you and other dentists interested in forensics with the required education, training and experience to clinically perform and produce expert opinions in cases involving single, multiple and mass disaster dental identification in the medical examiner's office. You will develop the skill to perform dental autopsies and to utilize the dentition and cranio-facial structures to assess a person's human dental age; recognize abuse; and, recognize and analyze patterned injuries for comparison in accordance with the Standards and Guidelines of the American Board of Forensic Odontology.

As a part of our program, we've partnered with the Knox County Regional Forensic Center (RFC) to offer hands-on educational experience and training. Under the guidance of Board-Certified forensic dentistry faculty and staff, you will have the opportunity to participate in and provide comprehensive dental and anthropological services to the Knox County Medical Examiner's Office and even to outside individuals, organizations and agencies! The combined casework, hands-on training and education provided to you will considerably accelerate your path considerably toward Board Certification in forensic dentistry.

For admission into LMU's Forensic Dentistry program, you must apply through the LMU portal. To be considered for entry, your application must be completed. We recommend you complete your application prior to the last semester of your undergraduate education.
After you have successfully completed our program, you will be prepared to pursue a national or international forensic dentist career consulting with law enforcement in your local community or as a full-time employee in a medical examiner's office. Graduates will have met most of the American Board of Forensic Odontology application requirements and will be prepared to successfully challenge the Board Examination.
