The Office of Academic Support helps Railsplitters academically by offering academic advising, tutoring, group study sessions, review sessions, workshops and programs (such as the Cornerstone or Student Support Services Programs) that specifically target students who might benefit from some extra academic and social assistance. The Office of Academic Support also coordinates the Student Welfare Alert system as a way to assist Railsplitters throughout the academic year. This is an intervention tool for students referred by faculty or staff for grade-related and attendance issues. We also help coordinate the academic programs of warning and probation in order to help facilitate academic recovery for students who have struggled.
We also offer more non-traditional means of academic support through our programs such as Mental Health Counseling, Career Services, and Accessible Education Services (ADA).
