LMU to Hold Winter Commencement in Virtual Format

Cap Abe

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) President Clayton Hess has announced that LMU will not hold an in-person commencement ceremony on December 12, instead opting for a virtual format.

Due to the ongoing global pandemic caused by the coronavirus and the need to continue mitigation efforts including social distancing, a large gathering to celebrate the Class of 2020 is not possible. The University will host a virtual ceremony with a commencement speaker, the conferral of degrees and a roll call of conferees by school.

Graduates can order regalia and a socially distanced photo day will be set up prior to finals week, giving students the opportunity to have a senior portrait and diploma shot taken. LMU will be spotlighting graduates on social media throughout the months of November and December.

Lincoln Memorial University is a values-based learning community dedicated to providing educational experiences in the liberal arts and professional studies.  The main campus is located in Harrogate, Tennessee.
