LMU Introduces Late Start Fall Mini-Term

Virtual class

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) will hold a special Late Start Mini-Term with a slate of 20 course sections available starting October 12 and running through December 11.

“Our Late Start initiative is designed for anyone who may not have felt comfortable starting school in August,” said Dr. Jody Goins, vice president and dean of enrollment and student affairs. “We are living through times that few have seen before. Understandably, major life decisions like heading to college are complicated. As local impacts of the coronavirus vary greatly, we wanted to provide our students with flexibility in joining our academic community.”

The slate of classes include sections for courses which are typically taken in the first year of college to satisfy general requirements for various curriculums, including Lincoln 100, Mathematics 110 and 115, Biology 100, 111 and 112, History 131, English 101 and 240, among others. Both online and in-person options are available. A full semester of material will be covered in the abbreviated mini-term, allowing participants to stay on track with their academic goals.

The LMU academic community has diligently followed the five core actions to stop the spread of COVID-19 including wearing a mask, washing hands, sanitizing surfaces, monitoring personal health and staying home when feeling ill. As a result, the University has had a total of 47 cases reported (at all LMU locations) since July 1. Of those, seven remain active and 42 have recovered.
