Claiborne County Alumni Chapter Issues Challenge to Fund Endowed Scholarship
The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Claiborne County Alumni Chapter has formed an endowed scholarship fund and is challenging the alumni of Claiborne County to donate.
A challenge gift of $10,000 has been given to the LMU Claiborne County Alumni Chapter. This gift is from the estate of the late Frances Brantley and her estate executors, Larry and Cecile Cadle, to increase the funds to fully endow the Claiborne County Chapter scholarship. The money the Claiborne County Alumni Chapter has in their annual scholarship account will be added to this endowed fund.
“We are asking all Claiborne County alumni and friends to help us generate an additional $15,000 and more to endow our Claiborne County Chapter scholarship,” said Sherrie Claiborne, scholarship donor, educator, and LMU alumnae and alumni representative to the LMU board of trustees. “Education is the key to our region’s future success, and I am encouraging others to join us in this effort.”
The Claiborne County Chapter scholarship allows high school students from Claiborne County to receive a life-changing educational opportunity at LMU. The next meeting of the Claiborne County Alumni Chapter is planned for August. Contact Sheliah.Cosby@lmunet.edu for more information or follow @LMU.Alumni.Association on Facebook.
