LMU Establishes David Carney Memorial Scholarship

David Carney

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) has established the David Carney Memorial Scholarship for the husband of Dr. Kimberly Carney, dean of the LMU-College of Veterinary Medicine in Orange Park, Florida. David, who passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 9, left an indelible mark on the LMU community during his nearly decade-long career as a standardized patient and client, where he played a crucial role in the development of students across multiple health professions programs.

David, a 2012 graduate of LMU, was highly regarded by his peers for his mentorship, and he was known for his captivating storytelling, always sharing his enthusiasm for the adventures that lay ahead. His kindness and support left a lasting impression on those he encountered, from students and faculty to friends and colleagues.

Above all, David was deeply devoted to his wife Kim and their son Caleb.

The David Carney Memorial Scholarship will support students in health professions programs, ensuring that David's dedication to education and mentorship continues to inspire future generations.
