LMU School of Business Introduces Business Analytics Concentration for DBA Program

The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) School of Business is expanding its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program with a Business Analytics concentration, launching in fall 2025. Designed to equip professionals with data-driven decision-making skills, this concentration prepares students to analyze complex business challenges and implement actionable strategies.

 

This fully online, 60-credit-hour DBA program emphasizes the practical application of advanced business concepts. Delivered in a cohort model, students take up to six credit hours per semester. This curriculum begins with 12 credit hours of foundational business courses. Candidates with an MBA or a business-related master’s degree may transfer up to 12 credit hours.

 

The Business Analytics concentration consists of 12 credit hours focused on data-driven decision-making. Courses include:

 

  • MSBA 516 – Business Intelligence and Communication with Data

This course covers business intelligence technologies and data visualization techniques for decision-making through dashboards, scorecards, and reports.

  • MSBA 520 – Programming Methods for Business Analytics

This course introduces analytical programming using R and Python to manipulate and analyze business data.

  • MSBA 521 – Data Acquisition and Management for Business Analytics

This course examines database management and SQL techniques for structuring, analyzing, and managing big data.

  • MSBA 522 – Data Mining Methods for Business Analytics

This course introduces data mining concepts and methods, including classification, pattern discovery, and predictive analytics for business applications.

 

DBA students will also complete four business core courses, which provide advanced knowledge in key business disciplines to support their doctoral research and professional expertise. In addition, four research courses prepare students for applied research, with the program culminating in 12 dissertation credit hours where they contribute to their fields. Graduates gain expertise to drive organizational success and lead in business practice.
