Braxton Colvin Portrait

Braxton Colvin, a 2024 graduate of the Knoxville Physician Assistant (PA) program at Lincoln Memorial University-School of Medical Sciences (LMU-SMS), has been accepted into the highly competitive Urology Fellowship at Emory University. This 12-month, full-time fellowship provides advanced training in adult urology, with hands-on clinical experience spanning outpatient clinics, surgery, inpatient services, and operating room procedures.

As a Urology APP Fellow, Colvin will have the opportunity to rotate through esteemed institutions, including Emory University Hospital, The Emory Clinic, and the Winship Cancer Institute. Her training will encompass diverse clinical and didactic components, including grand rounds, journal clubs, and specialized lectures. Additionally, the program offers exposure to urolithiasis, erectile dysfunction, urologic oncology, and laparoscopic/robotic surgery—critical areas that will enhance her expertise in the specialty.

This highly selective fellowship admits only two fellows annually, one in the spring and one in the fall, making Colvin’s acceptance a remarkable achievement. Upon completion of the program, she will receive a fellowship certificate, further solidifying her specialized knowledge and positioning her as a leader in the field of urology.

Professor Catherine Neal an esteemed faculty member of the LMU Knoxville PA Program, expressed her pride in Colvin’s success: “I am thrilled that Ms. Braxton Colvin has been awarded the Urology APP Fellow position at Emory Hospital. This fellowship recognizes her hard work, outstanding talent, and commitment to urology. Through this opportunity, Ms. Colvin will have the chance to become a leading expert physician assistant in urology. The LMU Knoxville PA Program recognizes Ms. Colvin as a role model to all our students and is so proud of her achievements.”

Colvin’s achievement reflects LMU-SMS’s commitment to preparing top-tier medical professionals through rigorous training and hands-on experiences. Her dedication, skill, and passion for patient care exemplify the excellence that LMU-SMS fosters in its students.

Accreditation Statement

The Lincoln Memorial University Tampa PA Program has applied for Accreditation - Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The Lincoln Memorial University Tampa PA Program anticipates matriculating its first class in January 2026, pending achieving Accreditation - Provisional status at the September 2025 ARC-PA meeting.

* Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding accreditation-provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students. Accreditation – Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. It is limited to no more than five years from matriculation of the first class. Accreditation-provisional remains in effect until the program achieves accreditation-continued after its third review, closes or withdraws from the accreditation process, or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards.

In the event the Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Physician Assistant Program – Tampa is not granted Accreditation-Provisional status from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), the Program will not commence and will not matriculate a student cohort in January 2026 as planned. If the Program is not granted Accreditation-Provisional status, applicants will be notified in writing and receive a full refund for any tuition and fees paid to the Program within 30 days of the Program receiving notification of the ARC-PA decision. Fees paid by applicants to the program will be reimbursed.  Other expenses associated with the admissions process, such as interview travel, are not included in the LMU refund policy.
