The Lincoln Memorial University-Richard A. Gillespie College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM) has announced the addition of Dr. Lauren Cross to its faculty as clinical relations veterinarian for the Great Lakes Region and assistant professor.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Cross earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from The Ohio State University in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science from Wittenberg University in 2009. She brings more than a decade of diverse veterinary experience to LMU-CVM.

Cross began her career practicing mixed animal medicine in rural upstate New York before returning to Cleveland, where she shifted her focus to small animal medicine. During this time, she developed expertise in advanced small animal dentistry and client education. She also dedicated six years to at-home end-of-life care for pets through her work with A Gentle Farewell.

In addition to clinical practice, Cross has held leadership roles, including serving as chief of staff at Ridgeville Animal Hospital and as a member of the Veterinary Leadership Team for Vetcor in Ohio.

Cross is excited to transition into veterinary education and looks forward to mentoring the next generation of veterinarians.

“Having knowledge of the current climate of the veterinary field, I am looking forward to helping guide the students in their clinical year and encouraging valuable field experiences,” she said. “Supporting the development of the next generation of veterinarians in this immersive model is so important, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to do so at LMU.”

Outside of her professional endeavors, Cross enjoys spending time with her husband Justin and their daughters Quinnley and Harper. The family also includes a rescue calico cat named Fiona and two affenpinschers, Olaf and Igor. In her free time, she enjoys baking, traveling, and embarking on new adventures.
