Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) proudly honored Josh Boldon, of Sneedville, Tennessee, as the recipient of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award at the 2024 Student Leadership Awards Banquet, held at Tex Turner Arena in April.
Established by the New York Southern Society in 1925, the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and a service-oriented approach in their daily lives. LMU is one of approximately 60 colleges and universities in the United States with the privilege of awarding the Algernon Sydney Sullivan and Mary Mildred Sullivan Awards. These awards allow LMU to recognize individuals for their fine benevolent qualities that are practically applied to daily living.
Boldon, who was also named Resident Assistant of the Year, has consistently shown unwavering dedication to service, reliability, creativity, and education.
As SGA vice president, Resident Assistant, and a leader in Alpha Lambda Zeta fraternity, Boldon has exhibited exemplary leadership qualities. His enthusiastic participation in fraternity philanthropy and service activities has significantly benefited both the university community and beyond.
Through his involvement in philanthropy and service projects, he has strengthened community relationships and highlighted the university’s commitment to giving back.
As a Ledford Scholar with a passion for increasing medical access in rural areas, Boldon’s academic achievements and research efforts reflect his dedication to excellence and innovation. His authenticity and genuine care for others inspire personal growth in students and community members alike.
Boldon has been accepted to the LMU Masters of Anatomical Sciences program.
