Delph Promoted To Assistant Dean of Students, Overseeing Student Life

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Assistant Vice President for Academic and Student Support Services Blaze Bowers has announced the promotion of Dawson Delph to assistant dean of students, overseeing student life.

Delph joins Bowers and Dean of Students Elise Syoen in leadership of the LMU Student Services team. In his new role, Delph serves as the chief conduct officer overseeing the Office of Community Standards. Additionally, he provides leadership for the areas of residential housing, orientation and transition programs and shuttle services. Delph also co-advises the LMU undergraduate Student Government Association.

“As an alumnus of Lincoln Memorial University, Mr. Delph has a commitment and dedication to the work he does for the students and greater campus community,” said Syoen. “He is an asset and we are so pleased to have him as a member of our team.”

Prior to his new position, Delph served as director for orientation and transition programs. He earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from LMU and Master of Science in education in student affairs in higher education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he also worked as a graduate assistant in the office of residence life. He is currently working toward a Doctor of Education in higher education.

Mr. Delph brings a tireless work ethic, a quintessential student affairs pedigree and a care for student development that is invaluable.”

The student services team works to foster robust engagement that is both social and educational. Student services promotes a co-curricular experience that aims to help students develop the skills and qualities that will serve them while at LMU and beyond. Student success is vital to the University as well as its students.

Delph is a lifelong resident of Claiborne County and is a proud alumnus of LMU and Miami University. He attributes much of his professional and personal growth to the unwavering support and encouragement from his family and his fiancée, Brooklyn.
