Professor Fels joined the Duncan School of Law in 2018 and teaches in the Academic Success and Bar Preparation programs. Professor Fels graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee’s College of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Tennessee Law review; completed an internship with Sixth Circuit Judge Eugene E. Siler, Jr.; and received an award for outstanding criminal appellate advocacy before the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Professor Fels previously served as a judicial clerk for the Supreme Court of Tennessee. He currently studies freedom of information and government transparency, justiciability doctrines, and federal criminal law.
