The Appalachian Reading Series features authors who hail from or live in the region or are associated with areas of outmigration, or who write about or are inspired by Appalachia and Appalachian culture or similar cultures. It is an opportunity to celebrate the rich heritage of the area and inspire the next generation of Appalachian storytellers.
The Appalacian Reading Series is a program of the LMU Department of Literature & Languages and School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, often with help from Wolfpen Writers--LMU's student writing club, and Sigma Tau Delta--the English honor society.
Look for the 2019-2020 academic year schedule of readings coming soon!
