Many employers will be seeking graduates just like you whom they trust will have a broader, more nuanced understanding of the work at hand rather than someone who is trained to do a particular set of tasks. With this new degree of yours, you'll have access to a career in most if not any industry, especially those that employ scientific methods. Some of these careers may include:
- actuarial training
- aerospace
- banking
- computer science
- cryptology
- engineering
- government
- management science
- numerical analysis
- pharmaceuticals
- quality control
- operations research
- statistics
You'll be well situated as well if you want to pursue a master's degree in mathematics or a related field. Regardless of the discipline, being admitted into most graduate or professional programs depends largely on your demonstration of mathematical skills and abilities beyond general studies requirements. Even undergraduate science degrees, especially chemistry, rely heavily on mathematical skills that coincide with the requirements for a mathematics minor.
