Sports Media

Sports Media Minor

Nearly half the U.S. population tunes in to watch live sports, and they depend on Sports Media producers to make it happen. With a minor in Sports Media, students learn the fundamentals of the industry, and have the opportunity to write original articles, stream podcasts and produce documentaries to compete in a thriving global sports industry.  This minor is 18 credit hours.

Sports Media Minor Curriculum

REQUIRED COURSES - 15 credit hours
Take the following five courses:

MCOM 110 Introduction to Media  (3 credit hours)
MCOM 261 Newswriting for Digital Media (3 credit hours)
MCOM 281 Single Camera Production (3 credit hours)
MCOM 372 Digital Editing (3 credit hours)
MCOM 381 Sports Media (3 credit hours)

 

ELECTIVES - 3 credit hours
Choose one course from the following list:
