Become a Student Ambassador
Eligibility:
Candidates for CVM Student Ambassador must be currently enrolled at Lincoln Memorial University – College of Veterinary Medicine with a minimum 2.75 GPA.
Ambassador Application:
Ambassador Applications are reviewed each semester. If you are interested in serving as an ambassador, please contact the Graduate Programs Recruiter and Success Coordinator.
Prospective CVM Student Ambassador applicants must demonstrate:
- Great interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership qualities
- Excellent written and oral communication
- A sense of school loyalty and pride
- Enthusiasm and creativity
- Demonstrated Initiative
- Effective collaboration
- Dependability
- Ability to work with diverse populations
Please note, applicants to the Student Ambassador Program are encouraged to apply if they are seeking to further develop their professional, leadership, or communication skills.
Outside of required participation, ambassadors must adhere to the following:
- Maintain a minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA
- Participate in ten hours per academic year
- Mandatory training required
- Participate in two mandatory events set forth by the CVM Ambassador Advisor
- Attend required Student Ambassador meetings
- Dress appropriately and professionally
- Regular, timely response to emails
- Be knowledgeable about the college
- Serve as a positive role model for students
- Maintain regular communication with the Coordinator of Admissions, both in-person and by email
Dress Code
Student Ambassadors are expected to wear professional clothing. Approved attire will range from business casual, white coat, and nametag to ambassador polo shirt, dress pants, and nametag. At times, the CVM Ambassador Advisor may approve special exceptions to the standard dress code.
Participation
- Orientation, White Coat, and Commencement. Ambassadors are highly encouraged to participate in these events as their schedule allows.
- Recruitment events or student panels in-person or virtual. Ambassadors must participate in three of these events which range from visit days, tours, student panels, or Zoom Q&As.
Re-evaluation
The CVM Ambassador Advisor and the Office of Student Services and Admissions may evaluate Ambassadors at any time at their discretion. If a member has not satisfactorily preformed as a Student Ambassador, the advisor may dismiss him/her. Criteria for re-evaluation may include things such as the number of missed meetings, lack of mandatory participation and/or ethics violations. Required GPA (minimum 2.75) will be checked on a semester basis.
This is a wonderful opportunity to become involved with future Lincoln Memorial University – College of Veterinary Medicine applicants, alumni, current students, and the community. Ambassadors will work together or independently to connect with diverse populations to represent the College. This can include recruitment, professional development, and educational outreach.
