Professional Program

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

The Lincoln Memorial University - Richard A. Gillespie College of Veterinary Medicine's 4-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program enables students to become confident and competent veterinarians in both medical knowledge and clinical skills. With this practical approach in mind, hands-on experience with animals begins in the first semester and continues throughout the program. Pre-clinical sciences are presented via a modified approach in which anatomy and physiology are taught together in order to foster clinical reasoning and diagnostic comprehension.

Within the program's spring or fall cohort, students will experience:

  • Nationally renowned veterinary educators with a commitment to teaching and lifelong learning.
  • “Hands on” based veterinary education that begins the first semester.
  • Clinical experience with a varied and busy caseload that emphasizes a team approach.
  • World class DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center (DVTC) that students utilize from the first semester and onwards.
  • Education that includes leadership skills, communication, and community service.
