Freeman Presents on Expanding Student Research Opportunities at American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Conference

Dr. Natalie E. Freeman, assistant dean of research and associate professor of biochemistry at the Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) presented on initiatives to expand student research opportunities through infrastructure enhancements and faculty support.

Freeman presented at the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) Educating Leaders 2024 conference in Kansas City, Missouri on April 18.

Initial outcomes from her presentation suggest potential for broader research involvement. This comprehensive strategy effectively enhances student research opportunities at LMU-DCOM and bolsters faculty support and research infrastructure.

Freeman's model offers a valuable framework for other institutions looking to improve their research programs by implementing standardized processes, providing funding support, simplifying IRB procedures, creating customized structures and maintaining transparent data management.
