What are external scholarships?
External scholarships (also called outside scholarships) are scholarships given by someone other than your school or the federal/state government. External scholarships are typically awarded by companies, foundations, church organizations, and philanthropists.
What if I receive an external scholarship?
All external scholarships must be reported to the Office of Student Financial Services to be included in the award package. Please ask your donor to submit the check with your name and LMU student ID number to:Lincoln Memorial University Attn: Financial Aid Office 6965 Cumberland Gap Parkway Harrogate, TN 37752
Your scholarship will be split equally between the fall and spring semesters, unless the donor instructs otherwise. Student aid may be impacted by any external funding received.
