Nursing Schools Almanac Ranks LMU Third in Tennessee
Nursing Schools Almanac has released its 2020 ranking of the best U.S. nursing schools. The Lincoln Memorial University-Caylor School of Nursing (LMU-CSON) is ranked No. 3 in the State of Tennessee by the publication.
Nursing Schools Almanac collected data on over 3,000 nursing schools and campuses throughout the United States, evaluating the programs on the institution’s academic prestige and perceived value, the breadth and depth of nursing programs offered and student success, particularly on the NCLEX licensure examination.
LMU-CSON is ranked No. 3 out of the 30 institutions the website ranked in Tennessee, coming in behind two middle Tennessee schools in Vanderbilt and Belmont. LMU is ahead of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (Memphis), Union University (Jackson), The University of Tennessee (Knoxville), Southern Adventist University (Collegedale), Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia (Madison), Baptist Health Sciences University (Memphis) and Tennessee Tech University (Cookeville) in the Top 10, making it the highest program from the East Tennessee region. For nearly 50 years, the LMU-CSON has been preparing competent, caring and highly trained nurses for exciting, in-demand careers that make a difference every single day. LMU-trained nurses work in a variety of settings such as hospitals, doctors’ offices, home health care and clinics at every level from Registered Nurse to Doctor of Nursing Practice.
Nursing is the largest undergraduate major at LMU. Enrollment in the CSON has increased exponentially over the last decade with the addition of new programs and concentrations. The CSON offers a variety of degree options to meet nurses’ career goals including a Licensed Practical Nurse-Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), the Registered Nurse-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN), the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with concentrations including Family Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Administration, Nurse Anesthesia and Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
LMU offers its accredited nursing programs at the main campus in Harrogate and at off-campus locations in Alcoa, Kingsport and Knoxville, Tennessee, as well as Corbin, Kentucky, and Tampa, Florida. LMU ranks No. 22 in the top 60 nursing programs ranked in Nursing Schools Almanac’s Florida list.
