LMU Cancels In-person Homecoming Events, Begins Planning Virtual Replacement
Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) President Clayton Hess has announced the on campus, in-person Homecoming, originally planned for October 8-11, has been canceled due the global COVID-19 pandemic. The annual event which welcomes hundreds of Railsplitters back to the LMU main campus in Harrogate, Tennessee, will now be reimagined in a virtual format.
“In light of the global pandemic, our mission of providing a quality educational experience to our students must remain our priority. Unfortunately, that means that for the health and wellbeing of both our current students and our alumni visitors, we can not gather this fall for Homecoming,” Hess said. “Our University Advancement staff is hard at work reimagining this great event in a virtual format and I am sure that we will be able to bring our community together, albeit from afar.”
Details for the virtual celebration are forthcoming at Alumni.LMUnet.edu.
