LMU Introduces Guaranteed Professional Admission Pathways
Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) has introduced new Guaranteed Professional Acceptance (GPA) pathways for undergraduate students. The new program provides early and preferred entry pathways into LMU professional degree programs.
GPA outlines early, preferred and accelerated entrance paths for LMU undergraduate students wishing to continue their education in the LMU-College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM), LMU-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM), LMU Duncan School of Law (LMU Law) and LMU-School of Medical Sciences (LMU-SMS). Pathways exist for students majoring in biology, chemistry, general exercise science, exercise and rehabilitation science, medical laboratory science, veterinary health science, history, English, political science, criminology and criminal justice, and business administration.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for highly motivated students that already know what career they wish to pursue,” said LMU President Clayton Hess. “Our GPA program allows students, as long as they meet benchmarks throughout their studies, the peace of mind of knowing they have a place in medical, veterinary, law or PA school.”
LMU-CVM offers both an early acceptance and guaranteed admission option for LMU undergraduates pursing a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Health Science degree. Likewise, LMU-DCOM offers early acceptance for LMU pre-med majors. LMU-SMS offers preferred entry into the Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies program for LMU undergraduates pursuing a Bachelor of Science in biology, chemistry or medical laboratory science and early acceptance for LMU pre-med undergraduates. All acceptances are contingent on candidates meeting certain criteria.
LMU Law GPA offerings include a “three plus three” early entry option and an acceptance without the LSAT option. The early entry option is open to applicants in their third year of undergraduate studies at LMU majoring in business, history, English, political science or criminology and criminal justice. Once accepted to LMU Law, candidates will matriculate at LMU Law following their third year of undergraduate studies and upon successful completion of the first year at LMU Law, a maximum of 30 LMU credit hours may be transferred toward the completion of the baccalaureate degree. This option has the potential to shave off a year of time and tuition. Open to a limited number of qualifying LMU undergraduates, LSAT scores may be waived based on the candidate’s SAT/ACT score and undergraduate GPA when following the traditional path to admission (completing baccalaureate degree prior to entrance). All GPA options for LMU Law are contingent on candidates meeting certain criteria including the character and fitness requirements.
The GPA pathways can be accessed by current LMU students and incoming students set to matriculate in Fall 2021. Contact Dr. Lindsay Haywood, director for enrollment services, for more information at 865.869.6300 or by email at Lindsay.Haywood@LMUnet.edu.
