HARROGATE, Tennessee, April 16, 2021— J. Frank White Academy (JFWA) middle school teacher Judy Grandey has been at the Academy for six years. She teaches fourth- through seventh-grade math, fourth- through sixth-grade language arts, fourth- through fifth-grade U. S. history and sixth-grade world history.

MEd – Curriculum and Instruction, (LMU)

EdS – Administration and Leadership, (LMU)

Career Background:

Before coming to the Academy, I taught 30 years in the Middlesboro Independent School System. I taught one year of business classes at Middlesboro High School, two years at the Middlesboro Elementary School, first and fourth grades, and 27 years at Middlesboro Middle School teaching sixth – eighth grade mathematics and language arts.

Why I still teach after 36 years in education:

I truly love my job!  I am blessed with the opportunity to come into my classroom every day and be greeted by the challenge to inspire, motivate and help prepare my students to be life-long learners. Our youth are the greatest asset we have in our society. I’m honored to be a small investment in their future.

I love to play golf. My husband and I play golf as frequently as weather and time permit. I love taking golf trips throughout the year.

Favorite Vacation Destination:

Beach trips that are combined with some scenic well-maintained golf courses.
