JFWA Honors Students for Academic and Athletic Accomplishments


J. Frank White Academy (JFWA) hosted its annual Awards Day on May 19 recognizing students for academic and athletic accomplishments including highest class averages, honor society memberships and team and individual athletic performances.


Caleb Carney, Jaymin Huddleston, and Gage Piercy were awarded formal jackets as the newest members of the Knights Order which is one of the Academy’s highest honors. Students who earn this distinction have demonstrated academic achievement, exemplary community service, and notable contributions in extracurricular activities.


Olivia Nichols was honored as the class of 2021 valedictorian along with salutatorian Jason Illick. Nichols also received the Shining Knight Award for high performance in academics and extracurricular activities. All 20 members of the class of 2021 took the stage to be recognized as scholarship recipients and to receive their regalia for commencement day.


High school highest GPA awards went to: Shashi Verma, Ellie Lintelman-Nader, Amanda Kotlar, Steven Lintelman-Nader, Mackenzie Graham, Gage Piercy, Samuel Rhodes, Cheyanne Mayes, Jacob Yeary, Bryson Stoner, Grayson DeBusk, Jaymin Huddleston, Michael Begley, Dallas Boger, Olivia Nichols, Jason Brooks, Blake Stoner, and Kinsee LeFevers.


Sixth through eighth grade highest GPA awards went to: Eva Gromley, Trinity Boger, Gavin Galloway, Talmadge Blair, Eren Gromley, Avery Thompson, Audrey Turpin, Gracie Blair, Breanna Taylor, Van Nickerson, Carter Lawson, Adriawna Hudson, Caitlin Drummonds, Tyler Nickerson, Emma Akins and Hope Hargis.


Fourth and fifth grade highest GPA awards went to: Vera Teague, Anderson Gilley, William Miele, Peyton Caddell, Ben Kotlar, Abagail Johnson and Natalie Turpin.


Jacob Yeary was honored as male athlete of the year, while Elizabeth Melton and Lillian Turley tied for female athletes of the year. Cutchin Wynn and Gracie Blair were named middle school athletes of the year. Girls golf was selected high school team of the year along with boys basketball which was also honored for performance of the year at the NACA tournament. Coach of year went to boys basketball coach Allan Wright. Breakthrough athlete recognitions went to Samuel Rhodes and Cheyanne Mayes. Cross country was voted the middle school team of the year.
