LMU To Open Spring Semester with Two Weeks of Online Classes LMU President's House

LMU President Clayton Hess has announced that LMU will open campus as scheduled to start the Spring 2021 semester. However, with surging COVID cases across the country, all classes -- didactic and laboratory -- will begin in an online format for the first two weeks.

  • Bukky Ajagbe-Akingbola Selected as LMU-DCOM Student Doctor of the Year

    LMU-DCOM student Bukky Ajagbe-Akingbola, Class of 2021, has been selected as the LMU-DCOM Student Doctor of the Year (SDOY). Ajagbe-Akingbola will represent LMU-DCOM as a candidate for the National SDOY award presented annually by the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP) at the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) annual meeting in April 2021.

  • LMU Medical Students Win Outstanding Youth In Philanthropy Award

    Three osteopathic medical students at DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (DCOM) at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU)-Knoxville, were awarded the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Great Smoky Mountain Chapter. The award was to be presented in person at the AFP’s National Philanthropy Day event; however, due to the pandemic, AFP will hold a live stream premiere of the documentary Hope in Chaos, featuring the award winners, on Friday, November 20, at 11:30 a.m. on the AFP Facebook Page. The documentary will rebroadcast on MyVLT Sunday, November 22, at 9 p.m., and will feature local individuals and agencies that have worked hard to meet new challenges and serve the community in big ways amid this year’s public health crisis.

  • LMU to Continue Seated Classes For Spring Semester

    Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) President Clayton Hess announced today the decision to continue seated courses and the on-campus experience for the Spring 2021 semester. Social distancing and enhanced safety practices, including wearing masks, will continue for students, faculty and staff, with limited events and visitors allowed on campus during the spring semester.

  • Application Deadline Extended for LMU-Knoxville Doctor of Physical Therapy Program

    The deadline to apply for Lincoln Memorial University’s new Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program has been extended to March 1, 2021. The inaugural class is anticipated to start May 2021.
