Meet the Staff

Paul was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is a first-generation college student and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Paul worked his way through college holding positions as a bellman and front desk clerk at a hotel near the UT campus. It was at this time that he developed an affinity for travel.

Paul later earned a Master of Science in College Student Personnel, also from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. While in graduate school, he participated in a practicum in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and another in the College of Liberal Arts Advising Services.

Paul has nearly 15 years of admissions and student affairs experience. He served as interim-director of career services and admissions counselor with Averett College (now Averett University) in Danville, Virginia, from 1994-1996.

From 1996-2003 Paul served as assistant director of undergraduate admissions at Virginia Tech (Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University) in Blacksburg, Virginia. After nearly 10 years in Virginia, Paul returned to his hometown of Knoxville and his alma mater in 2003. In October of that year, he accepted a position with the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and served as program coordinator in the professional and personal development division of the Department of Outreach and Continuing Education.

On August 1, 2006, he was appointed to the position of director of admissions for the new DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. And now for the second time in his career, he has helped open another professional school – the Duncan School of Law at Lincoln Memorial University in Knoxville, Tennessee.

As a first-generation college student Paul is committed to educational excellence and access for all. He looks forward to working with prospective students as an educational counselor and partner in their education pursuits and career endeavors.
